In One Year For Their Family of Seven

"I Just Had to Tell You!"

Tracy wrote this note after attending the first session of the Home Study Course. —JBH

I just had to tell you what I did this week using what I’ve learned in the webinar so far!!!! I went into Publix on Friday for a couple things. I had no coupons (clipping my 2 newspapers today though!!), so I pulled whatever coupon books I could find at the front of the. . . I then began my shopping with new “saving with coupons” colored glasses on. : )

One item on my list was small boxes of raisins for my 1 year old. As I reached for the Publix brand raisins, as I always do thinking it’s always cheaper to go with store brand, I realized that the Sun-Maid raisins were on sale. So, I stopped and evaluated the savings.

[Using methods taught in Start Saving with Coupons,] I saved 83%!

What a high!! It was so much fun. I was so proud as I realized this is what you are talking about. . . How easy it was BUT it took some fore-thought to pull it off, which is what your seminar is doing for me. I’m now thinking about all of this rather than just reaching for store brands and assuming I’m doing the best I can with my grocery budget.

Anyway, thanks so much for sharing your coupon info! I am learning so much! Can’t wait till Thurs night!

God bless you and Amy,

The savings on just these 4 trips is $454.10
…An average of 50%!
And the YTD savings by August of that year at this 1 store was $2,570.93!

Similar home study courses of this length and magnitude sell for $1997 to $4997. But most folks wanting (shall we say, needing) to save on groceries don't have that kind of money lying around; they already spent it at the store!

$1997

Even if you only did as well as I did on these four receipts, the course would pay for itself the first month if it was priced at $597. But, you won't even pay that much.

$597

The course is only $97. Most of my students make that earn that back in the first week following the simple steps I teach in the course.

Only $97

"I'm a Believer"

My wife just came home from shopping, she saved over 2/3 off the bill. In some cases on the receipt it actually showed the grocery store paid her for some products. I'm a believer.

"I had money left to spend but didn't need it!"

This week was low income week for my husband but I to buy our weeks worth of food. Kroger sent me a coupon for $5 off a $45 order. (Which I learned is only good on $45 of products after the Kroger card was swiped). They had a sale of buy 10 items and get $5 off. AND a Midnight Madness sale today only! Which I was able to get a big thing of lunch meat for $1.19 reg 3.79 and it was name brand not the store brand that I had planned on purchasing.

I used the [online resources] you told me about, I have been gathering blinkie coupons, and I learned the fact that I could use a coupon on sale items for stacked savings.

With money being tight I only had $45 for our weeks worth of groceries.

I tallied everything and when I thought I had ran out of money and had enough to use my coupons I went to the counter. $60 (and change) came to $32.94 but the $5 off coupon wouldn't work because I had not spent enough after the Kroger sales to be $45. It was only $35, so I needed to spend another $10 to get that $5 off. BUT I hadn't really finished my shopping list there were things I didn't buy because I didn't think I had enough money. The clerk told me that she would suspend my order I could go get more food and come back to her. She told me to get $12 more of items. So I went back and got those things I didn't think I could get this week . . . which included 2 boxes of cereal and both boxes were on sale with an additional $1 off manufacturer coupon on them!

I went back to that clerk . . . she had my groceries behind her. She restarted the order and then added the additional items!

My total retail food purchase was $75.89. [After coupons and store discounts,] I only spent $41.71 and got everything on my list! I had money left to spend but didn't need it!

"Thank you for sharing this"

Good news:
I went to Safeway with my list in hand, along with the flyer the other day. I used the flyer, my List, and my coupons, and saved my family (in 3 separate transactions): 50% $150.00!!!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!! Praise God!!

My husband also wants to stock our pantry with wholesome foods in case we ever need them, but he's not as patient. So, I found a sale on Campbell's Chunky soups at Fred Meyer. . . we saved 25%. YEAH AGAIN!!!

My mother-in-law is so excited to begin learning this, she's also sharing it with single parents-one who has cancer-and several elderly family members.

My sister has five children and I'm trying to teach her too. This is an extreme blessing. I truly thought I would never be able to do this, even though I've wondered how to for a long time.

Thank you for sharing this with others in an ethical way.
