"I had money left to spend but didn't need it!"
This week was low income week for my husband but I to buy our weeks worth of food. Kroger sent me a coupon for $5 off a $45 order. (Which I learned is only good on $45 of products after the Kroger card was swiped). They had a sale of buy 10 items and get $5 off. AND a Midnight Madness sale today only! Which I was able to get a big thing of lunch meat for $1.19 reg 3.79 and it was name brand not the store brand that I had planned on purchasing.
I used the [online resources] you told me about, I have been gathering blinkie coupons, and I learned the fact that I could use a coupon on sale items for stacked savings.
With money being tight I only had $45 for our weeks worth of groceries.
I tallied everything and when I thought I had ran out of money and had enough to use my coupons I went to the counter. $60 (and change) came to $32.94 but the $5 off coupon wouldn't work because I had not spent enough after the Kroger sales to be $45. It was only $35, so I needed to spend another $10 to get that $5 off. BUT I hadn't really finished my shopping list there were things I didn't buy because I didn't think I had enough money. The clerk told me that she would suspend my order I could go get more food and come back to her. She told me to get $12 more of items. So I went back and got those things I didn't think I could get this week . . . which included 2 boxes of cereal and both boxes were on sale with an additional $1 off manufacturer coupon on them!
I went back to that clerk . . . she had my groceries behind her. She restarted the order and then added the additional items!
My total retail food purchase was $75.89. [After coupons and store discounts,] I only spent $41.71 and got everything on my list! I had money left to spend but didn't need it!

"Thank you for sharing this"
Good news:
I went to Safeway with my list in hand, along with the flyer the other day. I used the flyer, my List, and my coupons, and saved my family (in 3 separate transactions): 50% $150.00!!!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!! Praise God!!
My husband also wants to stock our pantry with wholesome foods in case we ever need them, but he's not as patient. So, I found a sale on Campbell's Chunky soups at Fred Meyer. . . we saved 25%. YEAH AGAIN!!!
My mother-in-law is so excited to begin learning this, she's also sharing it with single parents-one who has cancer-and several elderly family members.
My sister has five children and I'm trying to teach her too. This is an extreme blessing. I truly thought I would never be able to do this, even though I've wondered how to for a long time.
Thank you for sharing this with others in an ethical way.
